It is always an honour to create someone’s wedding flowers and I feel it is an even greater honour to be asked to make a friend’s wedding flowers. Tara’s family and my family have been friends a looong time and we spent many Summer holidays together as children.
Tara and Jack were getting married in Chichester, about 2.5 hours away but I was happy to make the trip to them to deliver their flowers – as I am with any destination wedding. Their venue was a glamping site and all the wedding party were staying there over the weekend and they had a festival, glamping vibe to the whole day. The Ceremony was outside under a lovely planted tree arch and we used jam jars of flowers down the aisle tucked under the bench seats, these were re-purposed to the reception area later in the day. I provided a milk-churn filled with seasonal flowers which sat in the main tipi and became a backdrop for the family photos.
The personal flowers were an eclectic mix of bright, colourful, seasonal flowers – with no set colour theme Tara wanted a ‘picked from the garden’ look for her bouquet and I added Peonies, Roses, Eustoma, Craspedia with lots of textural foliage and then a large, full colourful flower crown to complete her look. The bridesmaid bouquets were small, colourful posies as a simple token for them to hold and the buttonholes were gorgeous little rustic bunches to mirror the bridesmaid flowers.
“Dear Hannah
Thank you so much for all your hard work and creativity with our amazing flowers! It was so wonderful to be surrounded by so many jam jars full of beautiful bright flowers. The milk churn display was a huge feature of many of our photographs and made a great focal point.
The bridesmaids, best men, Jack and I loved the bouquets and button holes, I wore my Flower Crown all day and all the next day as well! You did an amazing job.
Tara & Jack”
